Final Logo-- changes made

LOCK

This was my first idea for the logo for lock. I had decided to change it mutple times because I didnt like the look of the logo and didnt think it has the right qualifications that were needed for it to succesfully taget my audience in a effective way. I also believe that It was the right look that my client had wanted me to have for it to succesfuly portay what they were trying to show.

This was my final logo that I decide to present to the client. I beleive that this logo is able to taget my audeinde a bit better due to the fact that it possesses the qualities that my auience would njoy and be able to appriaciate. You can clearly see the different between this one and the first idea. I had change the colour sceme of the logo so that its able to pop out and stand out from any other radio station logo. I also change the locations of the rose to be the " O " in lock because it makes it unique and gives it a different edge that the audeince may like and other radio stations may not have.Changing the font to a pulse that also looks like a wave lenght of sound was for me to be able to fully allow the logo to be able to connect to the fact that its a radio station as well as the fact that I was able to appeal to my audience.

VIP

This once again was my first intial thought for the logo VIP. I beleve that from all the logos that were changed I think that this was the one that had the most drastic change . This had many different changes because I think that it wasnt able to portray the fact of elegance and importance to the best way that I had wanted it to look. I wanted my logo to be able to match the design with the wording and the elements that are presented within it. I also thought that I wouldnt be able to successfully appeal to the audeince that were meant to be intrested in it.

After varies different changes that were made to the progess of this logo I was able to succesffully make the final logo. As you can see the first idea and this are both completely different from each other. the only quality they both possess is the use of the rose and they both have the same font. I had wanted the logo to be able to represent whst the word wast trying to represent  and that was VIP. I think having the crown and the banner with a red carpet is able to portray this significantly because it gives it the elegancy and sophisicatation that is meant ot be represented with it. I also think that this gives it a bit more of a professional feel because the firts logo wasnt done to a good standard and made it look a bit amatuer than the rest.

SHRED

This was the first draft for the logo shred. I think that out of all the logo's this was one of the logo's that I was able to successfully portray from the start. Even though I had to change it I beleive that it was still succesffuly even though it was my first draft.

The finishing logo for Shred was possibily one of the best logos that I had edited. I believe that this was done to a successful standard because of hot polished the finising product looks and the fact that it looks to a profesional standard. I also think that it is able to relate to what its trying to portray of "rock " music and the guitar and font are able to show this. I did do some research as to what colours relates to rock and saw that it is generally black and purple. I then thgouht that I should use it in the logo so that I would be able to target the audeince that I need to target. I also think that by having the falling rose petals also gives it the look that it needed to portray what rock is about as well as relating to what the word generally means.

Secondary Research ---- Book 2

The main purpose within this article was for the media researcher to get to know the audience and know how to target them successfully. This would mean things such as things such as their lifestyle, likes, dislikes, habits , routine and even emotions. This means that you must evoke the emotions of the audience, whether it be from anger, love, fear or shock. This would mean that the company would need to consider putting these qualities into their advertisement to be able to appeal and target their audience successfully. This made me think that to be able to successfully appeal to my audience and allow them to be engaged to the advert I would need to try and use one of these emotions. Due to the context of the advert being anti-bullying I may use the emotions compassion. This would allow the audience to feel related to the advert as well as follow the message and do what the advert is asking them to do.

Music Video Animatic

This is  a bried represenation on how my patner Clare O'Mara and I wish for our music video to look like. Doing this has helped and allowed us to know how the finishing product may look like as wel as allowed us to have control on what we would like the finishing product to look like.

Secondary Research ---- Book 1

Thisis a book article titled Effective Advertising , Understanding when , how and why advertisng works, By Gerard J. Tellis. This was used in order to for me to get a better and wider persecptive of what it takes to make an advertisment succesfull and appeal to audience. This was able to help me understand what qualities to put in my social media campaign as well as how to make it a bit more conventtinal.

Audience Feedback

I had to consider was the clarity of communication. I was able to show the communication and message of the advert successfully through the storyline and actress. I was also able to commutate the message clearly due to the answers and reaction that I was able to get whilst doing the focus group. To be able to successfully target my audience and get the correct information that was needed to evoke their emotions and feelings during the advert I asked various questions such as if they thought there were enough help for teens about bullying, if they felt like they needed help from peers as well as parents and what they know about being safe online. By asking these questions I was able to incorporate what they said to me in the advert to make it successful.

Once I had done the first draft of the advertisement I went ahead and asked my audience on their view of it and how I could make it better. The first question I asked them was how they thought that I was able to target them. To my delight the answered it right and said that they used an actress close to their age and in an environment that a normal teen would be as well as the costume. The next thing I proceeded to ask them was what they thought that the message of the advert was. Once again the knew that the message was bout how bullying can affect a person and the impact it may have as well as the kind of help to offer if someone they know is being bullied. I then thought to ask them if they had wished it to be any different such as changing the actress , the music or anything else that they can spot within the advert that could make it better. I got a positive response in the fact that my audience didn't wish for me to change any elements in the advert.

Audience Research Analysis

Within the process of creating the advertisement I had to proceed in doing many different types of audience research. This was mainly in order for me to successfully target my audience in an efficient way. I also did this to gather information about what my audience knew about online bullying as well as what they knew about staying safe online and their views on both these subjects. I was able to carry out my research by doing three methods. The first thing I did was a VoxPop in which I asked varies different people the same question whilst filming their response in order for me to have the data needed. The second thing I proceeded to do was to make a focus group. This was in the same format as the VoxPop however with a larger amount of people where they had a discussion about the question that I proposed however the questions were different from the VoxPop’s. The last audience research I went onto do was a questionnaire. These questions were presented to 20 varies different people within my target audiences age group.

When making my VoxPop the answers that I got from my audience were very helpful and were answered to the standard I had wished. Due to the fact that the VoxPop answers were very detailed it gave me the information that were needed for me to make my advert successful. I decided to ask the people participating in my VoxPop what they thought staying safe online meant. I got the usual response such as not giving out passwords or any person information however no one said about not bullying online or about having any form of security on their devices to keep it safe from hacker and viruses. I then though to ask them on what platform they preferred watching videos on. The majority did say TV however if they are on the go they do watch things on their phones- which was the second platform they all did say. I then went ahead and asked them the kind of channels that they watch. I believe that it is important for me to ask this due to the fact that I’m going air this advertisement on a channel so I must ensure that it’s a channel that I know my audience would watch. The answers did vary from Channel 5. BBC ONE, MTV, E4 and ITV. One of the other question I thought was important to ask was what time they normally watch TV. My answers ranged from 7pm – 11pm. I think it was important to ask them this because I wouldn’t want to air the advert on the right channel however not allow them to watch it because I may have aired it at the wrong time.

After asking the questions I had wished in the VoxPop I had realised that I did get efficient answers that would possibly allow me to make a successful advertisement. However I did need to gather a bit more information about exactly what my audience know about staying safe online in a more worded way as well as asking more questions that I could possibly only get whilst asking in the focus group.

In order for me to get a productive response from my audience I had to gather a group of people that were within the age range of my advertisement audience as well as people with different lifestyles. I then proceeded to ask them varies different questions however some of them were indeed the same as the VoxPop. The very first thing I asked them were what they thought it meant to stay safe online and if they could give me some examples of how to stay online. I got the same response as the VoxPop in terms of having your password private, making Facebook profiles invisible to people outside of your friends and not giving out personal information to people you don’t know. I was shocked however when no-one mentioned about having some form of security on the device again. This was in fact the same result that I got whilst doing the VoxPop where no-one knew about MacAfee Security and Norton but I had hoped that within my focus group the individuals I picked would know these. I then thought if my participants felt like they have ever felt like they needed help from adults or their peers about staying safe online no matter what form it may be in. The general response that I got were no however one of them did say that when they were younger due to the fact that there wasn’t much help back then on a few occasions they did have to ask for assistance. One also did say that at times when they feel like one of their peers in experiencing bullying what they may be able to do to help them. I think that one of the important questions that I asked was if my audience thought that they believed there were enough efficient support and website out there for teens about staying safe online. I got a very detailed explanation from one of the participants claiming that there are not enough advertisements on TV however too much on YouTube. They stated that it would be better to be able to watch the advert on TV because having it on YouTube before they are about to watch a video isn’t effective because the person may skip it or just leave and wait for the advert to be finished and just wouldn’t watch it.

The last process I had to conduct to ensure that I had gathered enough research about my audience was to do a questionnaire. This was to get person information anonymously about the audience that they may not want to say in front of other or in front of me. I gave the questionnaire to 20 people with 17 questions on it that were similar to the focus group and VoxPop however with some more added questions as well. This was mainly to know their humour, age, religion and lifestyle to ensure that the advertisement relates to them as much as possible.

Doing the results gave me interesting results because they would have been the foundation of what I made the advertisement about, the theme and how I present it to my audience. Once again when asking the same questions as my VoxPop and Focus group gave me the same results. In my questionnaire I asked average time that my audience watches TV. The results came back as in-between 7pm-10pm. This would help me know what time I would have to air the advert to make sure a sufficient amount of people watch it. I also had to ask once again what channel that they watch the programs on and decided to choose it out of the answers I got in the VoxPop, the majority of my audience said MTV. CHANNEL 5 and E4. Thus making me think I would have to research into these channels to make sure that my target audience would watch it at the time that I air it. I also had to ask the age of the people I gave the questionnaire when I handed it to them. The age range differed from 16-18. This would be important because it allows me to know exactly the age of the people I gave it to and what the liked in order for my advert to appeal to them. By doing this I have a true representation of their opinion for me to have a successful research.

Advertisment Draft---Feedback From Client

Final shot where girl talks could be replaced with shot of your logo, just use the voice of the girl. You need to include the website to visit.

Audience Feedback Focus Group Discovery

During the filming of my audience feedback for my advertisement I realised that my audience knew what the advert consist of as well as the message that was trying to be portrayed. I asked a question that was asking my audience what they believe the message of the advertisement was. Upon asking them they were very eager to answer due to the fact that they knew the answer. They answered that the advertisement was trying to show the importance of what bullying can do and the impact it can have on the person as well as knowing the bullying is not a right thing to do. I was very pleased with the answer due to the fact that this was in fact what my advert was about as well as the message I was trying to portray. I also asked my audience how they think that I was able to target my audience successfully and upon asking the question once again they knew the answer. They said that the advert targeted them well due to the fact that the the main actress was also a teenager as well as the fact that they were casually dressed in what a normal teen would wear, thus being able to relate to the advert

Analysis of Product Placement

I believe that the best possible channel for the advert to be aired would be channel 5 during early peak times because more people would be tuned and would be watching the channel. However due to the price and that fact that the channel doesn’t really appeal to the target audience the channel I think that the advert should be aired is E4. This is mainly because it is target for teens and the even though not a lot of people tune in to this channel the price is reasonable and their target audience would definitely be watching this channel. I also think that they could also air it on 4music because of the versatile things that they show that targets their audience and possesses the things that they may like.

However in terms of putting the ad online I believe that viva may be the best website to put it on instead. This is due to the layout, setting, colours and themes that the website holds that appeals not only for males and females but also for a possibly wider audience range. One other website that would be good for the client to air their advertisement on may also be MTV. This is due to the fact that more than 100 teens visit this website mainly to look at recent hits on the charts and to watch videos. This would be really good for the client because this can ensure that even though people don't tune in to the channel, they would definitely visit the website.

Analysis of Competitor Analysis

Whilst looking into my competitors websites to observe the way that they appeal to their audience I realised the different ways that they have in order to do this. By looking at their website I realised that their main ways of targeting and appealing to their audience is their use of colour and images. By having their website bright and bold it would draw anyone's attention and they would then feel intrigued in what the websites message is . The use of having pictures allows the website to seem different and exciting through the concept of showing what they wish to portray through the use of not only their words but through visual effect. I think that this way is better because because remember thinks better in terms of picture than words, so the message that they are trying to show would be clearer and easier to understand. The other ways that they used to target their audience that i believe is effective is the use of font , information, and layout of the website. I believe that the layout of any website is very crucial because its the first thing that your audience see and if they feel like the website isn't for them or they don't like it in anyway they would go of the website. So its crucial that the company get the layout correct the first time.

Due to the fact that most of the website I visited were for teenagers, they had a wide range of colours, interactive games and bold font. This would appeal to a teenager because they would feel engaged in what they are showing as well as thinking that the website was made specially for them to enjoy whilst learning the facts that they intended for their audience to know. Even though the website were for teenagers they didn't use any bright colours- I believe that this was in order for the website not to look childish and trivial for their audience or else they would have thought that it was either boring or too much. However for the website that were targeted for the adults, those had no interactive games or comics, it was mainly facts. This is good because they know their audience and if there were bright colours or games the website would then feel to childish for the adults.

Analysis of Research Into Exisitng Products

Due to my research on the existing products (the advertisements) I have gathered that the social message campaigns all have the same featured present in the ad that allows it to communicate the message that they are trying to portray. In order for them to do this successfully they make the video dramatic so that it captivates the audience and by making the video seem serious it draws in their attention. I realised that all five adverts have a similar style in the advert in terms of the style of the video.

They all more or less use a dramatic tone and a surreal concept to engage their audience in what their watching. The surreal aspect of it would really engage the audience because it is an outside of the box thinking of a creative way for them to draw their audience in, in order for them to watch the advert and take notice to it. In terms of the target demographic I realised that for each video, a few of them had the same common audience and this was 18 year olds and above. Due to what the adverts were trying to portray it would only be sensible in the fact that their audience would be targeted at this age group. However due to the targeting of this age group the advert allows itself to connect to them more because they were mostly subject appropriate. This includes the advert that was about safe driving. Due to the legal age for driving in the UK is 18 the advert would have to try and sustain the advert to target this specific audience in order for them to know the message that is being communicated. As well as the other advert that I analysed such as: drive safely, drink driving, anti-bullying and various forms of blood donation advertisements.
In terms of the techniques of the advertisements they all had at least two different common techniques used in the adverts. These techniques were: solution to a problem, self-perception, compassion and fear. This was to allow the audience to connect to the video through various different emotions and thoughts throughout the advert. It also allows the audience to feel close to the characters and feel sympathy for them as if they were to be watching themselves if they don’t do as the advert wishes.

By analysing these different advertisement and the different kind of themes that they incorporate in order to appeal to their target audience has made me aware of the kinds of feature that would have to be present in my advertisement in order to make it successful, efficient and appeal to my audience. I’m now fully aware that in order to grasp the attention of my audience I would need to use music, narration, allow it to have compassion, self-perception and a solution to the problem. In order to do this I would have to make sure that the advert somehow relate to the audience.

Self Evaulation- Advertisment

I think that I have been able to successfully portray the message of the effects of cyber-bullying and how to resolve it through the use of my advert and my actress. Despite that I still believe that there are some aspect that I would need to change in order to imporve it and make it the best that I think it can be.

Reflecting on my filming experience so far- Advertisment

What did you film? For my advertisement I filmed Molly O'Connor Gadd, Sabrina Alovisi and Clare O'Mara showing the importance of anti-bullying and how it may affect as well as have an effect on the person being bullied. My main goal was to focus on the person being bullies so that I was able to portray their emotions and how they feel and their emotions as well as how to deal with a situation like that and how to handle it in the correct way. The first thing I did was film my main actress Molly in the decided location entering the room with a neutral emotion. Thus after this scene I had the actress receive the messages showing the hatred and anger from the bullies whilst showing the emotions of the actress at the same time to show not only the confusion but also frustration that they are exhibiting.

When did you film? For the advert I had filmed the advert on Saturday 7th March 2015. I had decided to film on this date because it allows me to have the whole day to change anything if there are any scenes that were not to my liking and it was an easy and relaxing day to film due to the fact that it was on a Saturday and was filmed in the afternoon.

Did you need to reshoot anything?
There were only two scenes that needed to be re-shot during the making of the advert. These scenes were when the actress shows her emotions after she had gotten the hate message. I wanted to re-shoot this so that I was able to get a better shot of her face whilst she got the message because I believe that they were not portrayed clearly enough in a way that I was satisfied with. The other shot I had to re-do was only a small shot and it was a different angle and the only reason that I had to re-shoot it was due to the fact that my actress wasn't focused and ready to film yet so they were not away that it was being filmed.

Did you stick to your storyboards?
Once I had started to film the advertisement I notices that there were a few errors in my stroyboard in the term that the story didn't really flow and it didn't keep to the original story I had wanted. Thus this made me think about changing a few scenes in my storyboard such as the a few of the school scenes as well as the home scenes. This was to give my audeince a clear understanding about the stroyloine, the progrssion of the stroy and how it was resolved without making them confused during the process of watching the advert.

Were you well prepared enough?

I would like to believe that I was prepared in the process of making the advert in terms of the fact that I knew exactly how I wanted it to be like as well as how I wanted to actress to act in the advert. i had also made the preparations to make sure that I had all my necessary equipment for filming the advert and that they were hazard free and that my camera for filming the advert was fully charged.

What have you learned about filming from this experience?
During the process of planning and making the advert I had realized that I had changed a few of my plans in terms of the vision of how i wanted the advert to look , the setting it would be in and the people that I cast that would bring it to life. I learned that to have a successful advertisement that appeals to your audience you must make sure that you research them about their likes and dislikes and get as much information about them as possible to make your advert appeal to them in the way that you had wished. I also learnt that to make the advert interesting and appealing you had to ad various things such as sound effect to make it more realistic, different shot types and angles as well as music for them to fully enjoy the storyline and understand the concept and message that is trying to be portrayed through the advert.

WWW:
I think that my advert had the right qualities to be able to appeal to my audience in terms of the actress, setting and the costume that the actress is wearing as well as the music. I think that these qualities are very important in the fact that it is able to attract my audience to the fact that it could be something that they can relate to , thus allowing them to watch it and feeling like they can almost understand actress' emotions in terms of how they may be feeling.

WWW:
The other good quality I think my advert possesses is the fact that the storyline is consistent and sticks to one thing. I had wished to had various different storyline in one to make the audience understand the story a bit more- however I believe that it would rather confuse them a bit more and rather result in them not understand it. The storyline is clear and the message that is trying to be portrayed can easily be understood and the audience would be able to understand what is happening to the main actor and the action the movements that they make.

EBI:
I believe that there are some shots within my advertisement that don't flow and are quiet jumping in terms of the fact that the next scene was shot at a different angle. I think that this would distract my audience from what they are truly meant to be focusing on and it would make the advert look poorly done and wont be to the best standard. In order for it not to be jumping I think I would need to find a way to smoothly transition the two scenes or re-shoot the whole scene in order for the shot to flow smoothly.

EBI:
I don't believe that I am able to convey the message of anti-bullying well due to the fact that the audience isn't able to clearly see the message that the actress has received due to the opacity of the shot and there is an over layer of another scene on top of it. I think I would have to either remove the fact that there is another scene on top of it for the letter to be a bit more visible or make that particular scene a high opacity than the over layered one instead.

Changes Made to my Advertisment

In order for my advert to appeal to my audience of 13-18 year olds i had to change a few scenes and choices made in the advert in order for it to make it a bit more relateable to my audience. This meant things like changes the music, some actors and totally changing the storyline of the advert. These choices were made to make the advert sucessful towards my audience.

The first thing I had decided to change was the music for the advertisment. I had originally decided to use Christina Perris Human for the soundtrack of my advert in order for the emotions and feelings to be portrayed a bit better but I had found a music that was able to portray the same emotions in a better way than my orignial decison. In my animatic I had used Christina Perri - Human- however in my actual advert I had chosen to use so cold by ben cocks. Whilst I did like using the Christina Perri- Human I just thought it gave the advert a slow and boring atmosphere thus not making it appealing to the audience to watch because the tempo was too slow and not progressing anywhere. I then thought about looking for a better song with the same emotions the song did as well as a bit of a faster pace, and that's how I thought to do a remix song. This was how I found Ben Cock So Cold (Al Bear RMX). I think this song will appeal to my audience a bit more than the previous one due to the tempo, the fact that its a remix, and the song adapts to the advert. Allowing the music to be a remix would appeal to the audience because the would find it audibly appealing and would give them a reason to watch the advert.

 Advertisment SoundTrack

Animatics Sountrack

As well as the music I had decided to change a few scenes in the advertisement to ensure that it appeals to my audience and it doesn't seem childish and uninteresting. One of the scenes I had decided to changes was when the actors says out loud "why me ". This is to ensure that 1) the advert doesn't go over its runtime of 30 seconds as well as the fact that it makes the advert look unappealing and would make my audience refuse to watch it. One other thing I had decided to change was having the messages shown on facebook and making the actress in a bubble. This was mainly due to the length of the advert and it would be exceeded if I added the extra scenes. I also chose not to have the facebook messages show due to the fact that it would already be seen through text, so having it on another platform wouldn't have made a difference and I would have just been repeating scenes.

What my Vox Pop Discovered

I had asked one of my members ' what is the most important thing to do to stay safe online ' and all of my members said the same thing such as not giving away personal details such as passwords or bank details. However I asked the question as an open and general question , however I noticed that none of them said anything about anti-virus, backing up their computer and protecting their devices from virus'. This is one of the main things that people tend to forget and end up losing all their work and passwords due to not having enough information about anti-virus.This means that I may have to think about doing an advert about the advantage of protecting you computer or laptop from virus' and other things that may harm their device.

I also realised that most of my members prefer watching most programs such as BBC as well as E4 and MTV. These programs are mainly aimed at teenagers so this is an understandable result that my audience would enjoy watching these channels. When making the advert I have to think about making it appropriate to be able to broadcast on one of these channels due to the fact that my audience seems to enjoy watching them.

Casting Decisions - Advertisment

To be able to educate teenagers about the dangers of the internet i would be making a social messaging campaign which would hopefully be able to communicate how to be safe online. Such as the effects on cyber-bullying , a way to resolve it as well as the information on how to help victims of cyber-bullying. However before I decide to start making the advert I need to consider the people that would be involved and features in the making of the video. I have made the decisions that Clare O'Mara, Molly O'Connor Gadd and me (Khrystlyn Wilson ) would be involved in the production of the advertisement.

I have decided to have them as my cast because the advert is meant to appeal to teenagers and the people i have chosen are within that age group. Due to the fact that my actors are within the same age group as my audience I was hoping that they will be able to relate to the actors and the storyline. I am also hoping for them to connect to the emotions and feelings, costume, location and setting of the character allowing them to connect with the character allowing them to connect with the audience. By making the advert connect with the audience it will make it more successful due to the fact that I know my target audience would watch it.

Social Message Campaign Advert Logo

This is my logo that I designed and made for my social media campiagn. I made this logo using the program Adobe Photoshop C36. The first thing I did when making this logo was to ensure that I have a clear idea of what I would like to logo to look like the message I would hope that would be presented to my audience.

To start of with the making of the logo I had to open the program photoshop and made a page size of 20cm by 20cm. I had decided to have this size in order to allow the audience to clearly see the message and view the logo better. I also chose this font size in order to allow it to look appealing and finished to the audience in order for them to connect with the message and acknowledge what it truly means. The reason as to my images for the logo is due to the fact that I was to symoblise the world united and working well with each other and lifitng each other up rather than letting each other down. I wanted it to also symbolize a world of peace and helping each other thus the use of the hand at the bottom holding the the world up. I also thought that in order for it to appeal to my audience a bit more I would put it in a very known and well used gadget- The Iphone 5. This is to attract the audience to look at the logo and allow them to feel like it was made for them and that they were the inspiration for the logo. The use of the text also came with the idea of having the advert made for them and for them only and making it appeal to the audience due to the fact that the majority of my audience would be using this device. I thought that by having the catch phrase incorporated in the logo would allow the audience to memorize both things better, both the logo and the message that ConnexCast is trying to portray to their audience.

During the graphs of the questionnaire results I didn't examine any patterns and the results that I witnessed were more or less the kind of results I was expecting due to my audience and the kind of people I gave my advert to.

With this animatic I wanted to show the importance of how bullying can impact on someone and how it can make them feel. In this animaitc my audience is going through the journey of someone being bullied and the emotions that they are feeling during the stages. I'm hoping to portray this and provoke my audience through the use of music, setting and actress.

Advertisment Animatic- Idea 1

In this animatic I was hoping to portray the varies ways that someone could stay safe online through the use of cartoon. In this animatic the audience is able to see the different variables of them staying safe online and keeping their devices protected from harm from things that may harm it. I did this through the use of direct message by having a voice over and directly speaking to them and allowing them to remember it by having the cartoon , sound effects and the music.

Review Of The Budgeting- Advertisment

Upon researching for my necessary equipment needed for the filming. During my research I found two different popular brands that may be good to use for the filming of the advertisement. I then had to calculate a budget for everything that I needed such as the camera, tripod, editing equipment, actors and venue for the filming. I have decided to have a budget of £1500

One of the first brand that I found was CANON. This is a very popular and well used brand for various productions reasons. I believed that the pricing for renting this equipment would be expensive so I was fully prepared. The camera that I believe is adequate for the filming would be the CANON EOS 7D. This camera is specially made for both photography purposes and filming with a 1080 HD resolution. The price to rent this would be £46 per day excluding VAT and  £200 deposit. However there is a charge of £69 for a weekend rent and £172 to rent for a week. Whilst observing the price I believe that renting for a week would be a better option because its an easier option than having it daily due to the fact that we would have to film something that may take a long time to film.

On the other hand there was the other brand I looked into which was NIKON. They are also a popular and professional brand that only professional tend to use their equipments. I saw a NIKON D5200 which as built in LCD monitor and full hd movie 24.1 megapixals. The cost for this is £40 per day excluding VAT with a £162 deposit. However it does offer a £150 deal when you rent it for a week and £60 for a weekend. Again I though that the best choice would be to rent it for a week due to having it as a safer choice and in case we need to re-cord again we have the whole week to possibly record again.

The last popular brand I looked into was a SONY. This brand is well known to have many various different productions in media and thought that if I wanted to use a camera I would definitely think about using this brand. With the this brand I found a SONY ALPHA A65 that cost £39 per day excluding VAT with a £157 deposit. I then saw that it also offers £59.17 for a weekend rent and £146.67 for a weeks rent. I just think that these three prices are mainly the ones I'm looking at whilst thinking about the timing of recording the advertisement.

Whilst comparing the prices for the camera I came to the conclusion that I would use the NIKON brand due to the qualities that the camera has. I decided to use £150 deal to rent for a week with a £162 deposit that I would get back if the camera is still in good quality as when it was when delivered to me, however I do also have to think about other expenses.

The other thing I had to look into was the use of a tripod to stand the camera on. I have decided to use the MANFROTTO PRO TRIPOD. I had other option as well as this one- however the ones that I looked into didn't allow weekly hire and since I was going to hire the camera for a week I believed that hiring everything else for a week as well would be easier and a bit more convenient. I also chose this due to the qualities that it possesses and the creditability that it has. To hire this tripod for a week would cost £65 for an actual week , however it did offer the price of £55 for 5 days. But I have decided to go for the weekly price because I believe it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I then thought if I would need any extra lighting and any other equipment such as lighting. However I don't think that it would be needed due to the fact I would be filming in a studio that would have lighting - however I would keep aside some money for it in case it may be needed. I would set aside £100 for the use of this equipment.

Next thing I looked into was hiring the venue. I looked at a venue that charges for the days that you use, how many people are in that room as well as the time. Whilst looking at that venue a bit more I decided not to use any of it due to the intensity of their charges and the complications it may possesses in future whilst filming the advert. I saw a venue that I believe would be really good for the filming due to the equiptment and qualities that the studio possesses. The price for this venue is £256 for ten hours or £32 per hour. There is also a deal that if I rent the room for ten hours I would receive an extra 2 hours for free. I decided to use the ten hour deal due to what the deal offers as well as the two free hours which would be very useful in case anything extra needs to be filmed or if we need to re-record and look back on any footage.

The next thing I had to research was hiring an actor or actress for the recording of the advertisement. This was hard to find because some website don't like to say how much they cost unless you are ready to hire the person. However I found somewhere that was perfect due to what the qualifications consist of and it fits in perfectly with what platform the advert is. To hire someone for internet use, web explanation and internet radio they charger by the number of minutes of the script. Due to the amount of minutes of the script I think that hiring someone for 2 minutes or 5 minutes would be the easier option. To rent someone for 2 minutes would be £121 however to hire for 5 minutes would be £164. I think that hiring someone for 5 minutes would be better in case there as to be any additional changes to not only the script but also the scenes.

The last thing that I had to think about was where I was going to edit the advertisement. I had to look at places that has the correct software that would be needed for me to efficiently edit the advert. Due to the fact that all I need to do is edit the advertisement I don't think I would look into renting for a week because I highly doubt it would take that long to edit the advert. I would like to look into renting for about 2 or 3 days in order to edit the video. I have decided to go rent an editing software for full a day due to the fact that it would give me extra time to edit all the footage together to make it successful. However it doesn't state how many hours the full day is. The cost to hire the editing software of my choice for a full day is £90.

After looking into everything I need and calculating the cost of all the equipment that will be used or needed I then managed to get a better understanding of what my budget should be, if I've gone above it and if I would need to make any changes to it. Calculating how much everything costs and I came to the conclusion that everything would cost £987. This means I'm within the range for my budget and I have £513 left over. However if I manage to return the camera in good quality then it would mean that I would get back my deposit and re-gain the £162, resulting in having £675 left after the production.
