Completed added effects on final music.

In this post I have used Tube Chop to portray the changes that was made to the music video for the final draft to be conventional and interesting for the audience to watch. I also did it to make video look professional for my target audience to watch and enjoy.

<

1) artist being seen when the singing starts. This allows the audience to know who the artist are immiditaly and possibly be able to connect and feel drawn to them before the music video even starts.

2) One of the artist in fast motion and reverse motion to make the video look more interesting and exciting. This also allows the video to be more conventional for the audience to watch.

3) Having the footage of the music video cut to the beat of the music allows it to be a bit more interesting and exciting for the audience to watch so that they don't think that its boring and that the music video doesn't have any good qualities about it

4) By having both artist in one shot however in different footage allows it to be unique and different and would make the audience question how the producers did it as well as thinking it was a creative idea. Having it at a time that they are lip-syncing but in different footages allows the audience to see an extra scene and clip in the video.

5) By having extreme close-up of the artist lip-syncing lets the audience know what the artist is singing and be able to also see the emotions and feelings of the artist as she is singing it.

Feedback From Client---Music Video

During the making production of the music video I received feedback from my clients throughout the music video on how to make it better and to include various different things that they like. This is a very important aspect of making a music video because it allows the artist to know what they would like to incorporate in the music video and what it takes to make it successful and appeal to the audience. The feedbacks that I received was on my first draft that I showed to my client. I received some pointers on how to make the music video better, to appeal to my audience and make the music video as best as it would it..

The first feedback that my client pointed to me was that some of the footage in the music video didn't fit the screen as it was meant to and there were a few cutaway in the music video that were not supposed to be there. The other feedback that I received was that in some scenes where we see the artists they are not in sync with the lyrics in the music and that would need to be fixed or else it could possibly confuse the audience. The last feedback that I received from the client was that in the first draft of my music video was that there weren't enough parts where we see the artist. The client believes in the music video it is crucial for the audience to clearly see the artist in order for them to know who is singing.

I took into consideration all of the feedbacks that my client gave to me and started to make all the changes. I thought that by changing/including the pointers the client gave to me it would be final piece look professional and appeal to my audience.

In terms of my first feedback of where some of the footage doesn't fit the frame in the screen and there were too many cutaways and footages that weren't meant to be seen I thought that by deleted those extra scenes the video would look a bit more professional and wouldn't look messy. The first thing that I did in order to make the video look professional was to watch the whole thing and to delete any of the extra footage that came into the scene. Once I had located the faults in the footage I had to use the cut tool in the editing software to delete any of the extra footage. The second thing I had to fix was that the images in the footage weren't in frame and didn't fit in. In order to fix this problem I had to identify which parts of the footage did that and used a tool called ' adjust to frame ' which allowed me to fix the problem easily. If that tool didn't fit it perfectly I could then manually do it myself by zooming in and moving the image how I wanted in order for it to fit the frame.I think it was an important thing that my client told me the mistake in the video because it there were any unneeded footage in the music video it would just confuse the audience and they would be unable to identify the message that my partner ( Clare O'Mara ) and I are trying to portray.

The second change that I made was to try and sync the artists singing with the music. In order to do this I decided to look for all of the footage that we can clearly see the artist lip-synching to the music.I thought that it would be better to just change the ones where we see the artist instead of changing the whole thing because that the only part that the audience would be watching and not the part that wont be lip-synced.In order to make the artist lip-sync to the music I had to identify at what point the artist was singing at and located where that part of that music was. Once I had figured out where that part was I began to make the alterations of the song by using the editing software on Adobe Premiere pro CS6 and used the cut tool to cut out any parts that I didn't need. Once I had cut the parts of the footage I just had to move the lip-syncing of the artist to the song it along to that designated area.I thought that by changing the lip-syncing of the artist to match what it says on the actual song it would allow the music video to be a bit more conventional, appeal to the audience and be successful within the audience.

The last piece of editing I had to do for the music video that my client told me was that at the beginning of the music video it would be crucial for the audience to see the artist in order for them to know who is singing. I agreed with the client and thought that it would be important for the audience to be able to see the artist and  possibly connect to them. To be able to do this I had to find footage of the artists both together that wasn't already going to be seen in the music video and wasn't being used and put it at the beginning of the song just when the music begins. Whilst doing this part of the editing I thought it was quite hard due to the fact that it was hard for me to know exactly which ones were being used and which ones weren't. As well as the fact that I didn't know if it would be a good footage to be used just at the beginning of the song. Due to the fact that I would need to see all of the footages shot I needed to be able to view them, however due to how it was laid out I wasn't able to just view particular footages that I wanted but I had to view all of them. However I did manage to find a good piece of where its just the two artist together doing nothing so I thought to incorporate that footage in the video.

Paper Edit

This is a paper edit and it is one of the documents that was used in order to understand how the editing of the music video would look like. It also help to to understand which parts would be shown in the music video and know/understand where each clips needs to be and what scene it would be

Music Video - Final Draft

Evaluation On Final Draft

WWW:
One good quality that my music video possess is the fact that both artist are present in the video and lip-syncing to the music. This makes it easier for the audience to know who the artist are and it allows them to connect not only with the audience but also with the music video. Making both artist present and lip-syncing allows the video to be more conventional allowing it to appeal to the audience due to the fact that its very common for music videos to have the artist present and lip-syncing in their video.

WWW:
In the music video it shows many different various editing such as the footage cutting to the beat of the music as well as other montage editing in the video such as changing the opacity of the footage and overlapping it with other videos. Adding these editing types makes the video more appealing the audience and interesting to watch by cutting to the beat of music . It also allows it to look professional and well put together.

WWW:
My music video follows the storyline and concept through the use of location types. The storyline consists of two female travelling and visiting various new place. I chose to show this through the use of locations and short types that would allow the audience to connect to the artist through the use of locations. I also chose to do this to make the video look appealing and more successful.

EBI:
In order to make the music video a bit more conventional I think I should have had more editing that would cut to the beat and allow the audience to feel like its exciting to watch the music video. This could have allowed my video to connect to them in a more unique and different way.

EBI
Another way I could have improved the music video was through the use of slow motion. This is in order to allow the video to be a bit more conventional and appeal the audience. It would have also made the storyline a bit more exciting the would allow the audience to anticipate what would happen next in the music video sequence. Due to the way the music video started it would have been interesting to add the slow motion due to the fact that it would have made it seem like the journey that the artist face could be surreal, unreal and possibly unrealistic however the artist wouldn't know that thus making the storyline clearer to the audience.

Music Video - Using planning documents.

In order to make the music video successful and make sure it meant the criteria for our audience, we must make sure that we keep to our story boards and the idea that we had planned to do. The storyboard was one of the main equiptments that was needed because it guided my partner and I in what kind of shots we would film and in what sequence the production would be in.

STORYBOARD

This is a screen shot of one of the storyboard ideas. In this part of the storyboard it shows my partner and I in one of our locations in the music video. This location that is presented is in morden park and there were varies things to film such as a waterfall, a riverbed, and the scenery. This helped us to get a rough idea of the kind of things we need to film and what our music video would at least consist of. This also gave us a template as a back-up just in case both my partner and I couldnt think of any other ideas to include in the music video or there was shot we didn't like we could have possibly changed the idea and the footage to something else.

ANIMOTO

The next thing that we had to do after the stroyboard was to cut it up and them put it in a sequenced order of what we would want it to look like, as if it was the music video. My partner and I had a joint decision in the order that the animo to would be in. This gave my partner ( Clare O'Mara ) and I a brief as well as clear interpretation as to what the finished product of the music video may look like.

Once my partner and I had come to a joint decision that the Animatic looked finished and looks like our finishing product then we decided to move onto the next task which was to make a prop and costume choice sheet. This was an informational sheet that we made in order to be aware and to understand the kind of clothing and objects( the props ) that we would have liked to be seen in the music video. However due to one of the conventions in the music video stating that in every shot the artist would wear a different costume to match their surrounds. This meant that every time we wished to film or shoot a scenery we would have to wear a different costume to appeal to our audience. Furthering towards the shooting of the music video by doing the props and costumes list it helped my partner and i in the decisions of what kind of items would best appeal to our audience in which specific scenes.

One other planning document that we were required to make was a "treatment " document that was made on word. This was a document that was made by both my partner and I and it consisted of a range of information giving both us of a clear understanding and a prosperous idea of how the music video may look once finished as well as the skills and the requirements in order to make a proficient music video.

During the planning of making the music video I decided to make a paper edit for the music video. This is material which is shown through a table which allows me to understand how to easily read my music video as well as what the videos would look when edited. Hence this helped me to create my music video due to the fact that it gave me a better understanding of not only how it would look when its finished as well as the structure that it would be in.

During making the paper edit my partner and I chose to make an editing schedule. This allowed my partner Clare O'Mara and I made this document together however got different results due to the fact that we did our own music videos with the same song. However it also gave use various different errands that would have needed to be complete. This then goes to prove that the paper edit contributed to the help of my partner and I during the creation of our music video because we were both able to know what we had to do, when we had to do and why we had to do it. By setting the dates of when we need to do do the music video allowed us to be more productive and to be able to get work done.

Before we started the production of the music video my partner Clare O'Mara  and I had to make a casting decisions sheet. This was a list that allowed us to know what to expect and what to do when filming. This allowed me and my partner to know who would be lip-syncing at what scene and who would have to be filming. This contributed to us making the best possible music video in a better and much more planned way as well as allowing the producing to go quickly and efficiently.

However before we could possibly make that sheet we had to first create a location visit sheet which showed us where we had to film as well as all the positives as well as the negatives of filming and visiting each location. This allowed Clare O'Mara and I to be a bit more productive in making our music video due to the fact that we knew the kind of locations that we would be visiting as well as what we would need to expect when filming in those locations.

Once my partner and I had made the important documents in order to make a successful music video we then went onto making a shooting schedule. This was a document that has been made to allow both of us to be fully prepared on what had to be done when visiting each locations that had to be filmed and when we had to film. This allowed us to be a bit more organised and have everything well planned for what had to be done for each day . It also helped us know where and who was filming at that location as well as the costumes that would have to be set and ready for that day .

To be prepared and ready for shooting the music video my partner and I decided to create a proposal sheet. This was a sheet that is crucially required in order to make a efficient music video- this documents informs both of us on what is takes to be able to target our audience through the music video. I believe that this is very beneficial for my partner and I to make this document due to the huge contribution that it would bring in order to create a music video that would help us target our audience in a better way by thinking about the shot types, costume , props and hair and make-up as well as other qualities that we may not know about yet.

One of the most important document that my partner and I made was the risk assessment. This was a report that was made in order to educated my partner Clare O'Mara and I on what kind of risks and hazards we may have to face whilst the production and filming of the music video. The report allowed us to be very cautious and aware when filming in heavily congested places and and uneven ground due to the risks that the equipments may possess as well as any high risks around us when filming. It also gave us guidance on how to avoid and kinds of risks or hazards that we may have to face and what to do when they do happen.

The last document that my partner and I had to make was the rushes log. This was a log that allows the producers of the music video know how much footage has been shot / filmed at each day and location for the production of the video. This also allows us to know how much we have filmed if there is more to be filmed as well as what to film. This shows that the rushes log was a massive contribution to the production of the music video due to the fact that it helped Clare O'Mara and I in making the music video as well as be aware of how the footage turned out and if it needed to be changed in order to make a successful and appealing music video

Music Video Production

What did you film?
For the music video  my partner Clare O'Mara and I mainly filmed ourselves lip-synching to the music in various different locations. We did this in order to capture and enhance our body language and the emotions that we were feeling and hope that it would emit to our target audience and that they would have the same emotions when listening to the song. It was also to help the audience understand the concept of the video and clearly see the artist and what we are trying to show.
When did you film?
During filming for the music video we have filmed in various locations and we have filmed on different dates. Our first music video that we filmed was on the 16th October and the location we filmed at was Rose Hill Park. My partner and I decided to film in this location due to the beauty of the background and it consist with our theme of " The Unknown". It was also due to the large amount of space that we could film anywhere as well as the fact that we have natural lighting which would allow the video to feel a bit more realistic to the audience. We then filmed on the 21st of October and this location was in Morden Park. The reason why we decided to film in this location was due to the fact that it had a beautiful rose garden and we though that it would make the video a bit more appealing relatable for the target audience.

WWW-
I believe that when filming the music video a lot of good footage were filmed. This includes having various different locations and different costumes to match with the location. I think that by going to these different locations and with the costumes gives the audience the feeling that they can relate to the video due to the costume and locations that are shown in the video.

WWW-
As well as location the music video consist of various different angle shots. In order to make the video interesting and exciting to watch there has to be various different angle shots. This is to give the audience the chance to use their imagination as to what the whole location may look like.

EBI-
In some of the video that we recorded the focus and quality of the video wasn't to the best that it could be. I believe that if we were going to record anything further we would have to ensure that the focus is crisp and that its not blurry. We also have to ensure that you can clearly see the artist and what the are singing as well as their facial expressions.

Did you need to reshoot anything? If you have already reshot it, what made it better than before?

During making the music video we had no need to re-shoot any of the videos that we had already captured. My partner and I choose that all the footage we had was successful and that any footage that had a fault in it would be edited in a way that the audience wont see those faults. This is in order to make it successful and appear more professional for the audience watching.

Did you stick to your storyboards?

We did decide to stick to our storyboards in some of the scenes due to the fact that we thought it would it would be good to keep those scenes and that it would make the video a bit more interesting to watch.I think that the only times we maybe didn't stick to the storyboard was when we had filmed any extra scenes to make the music video have more locations and shot types to make it exciting to watch.

Were you well prepared enough?
My partner Clare O'Mara and I were well prepared for the production of the music video due to the fact that we knew what we were meant to film, where to record and what qualities each location had for the music video to be appealing for the audience. When setting out to record we also made sure to check the weather and if we had the right equipment that we needed for that day.

What have you learned about filming from this experience?
I have learned many different things whilst the production of the music video that I think I could remember for a long time. The first thing I learnt was that when making a music video is the amount of planning that goes into it- this includes thinking about the equipments you're using, where you would film, what part of the location you would feel at ,what to wear and what the video is going to consist of. I also learnt that you would have to book the equipment that is needed a least 24 hours before the filming for the music video or else the schedule that you had planned would need to be thought of for another day which would delay the production rate. One important thing I learnt was the amount of planning it goes into making the music video such as what the final product would look like, thinking about risks when filming, the costumes and make-up as well as the costumes to make the music video successful. However I believe the most important thing is to make sure you sync the artist singing to the music. If not it would confuse the audience and the video would like sloppy and would make the audience get confused with the storyline.

Music Video- First Draft WWW, EBI

What Went Well- I believe that in my music video I have portrayed the concept and message that I wished to in the music video. The theme of ' The Unknown ' is shown through the use of the extra footage shot around varies different locations. This not only allows the music video to be conventional but it also allows the audience to feel like they are the ones going to these locations. This also makes the video appealing and interesting for the audience to watch due to the various locations shots in the video.

What Went Well - One other thing that the music video consist of is the use of the lip-syncing. By having the artist lip-syncing it not only get the audience to know who the artist is they can also see and feel the expressions of the audience whilst watching the video.

Even Better If- So far in the music video it lacks enough viewing shots of the artist. To be able to make the music video relatable and appealing to the audience I would need to ensure that the audience sees the audience and the emotions that they are trying to portray.

Even Better If- Some of the footage that are seen in the music video are unclear and not defied to the best it could be. I think that in order for the audience to know and see the footage it would have to be clear and easy to see. In order to make this achievable I could try and make the image clearer or try and get a better footage of the video. I could also just replace the image.

Even Better If-  In some of the footage in the video I think that i may have just put it in there in order to make the music video, I have to think about the kind of footage I would like in the music video and when to place them, In order to do this I would have to plan what I'm going to put in the music video at what moment.

Film Your Rushes

To make the first draft of your music video you must ensure that you have the most important conventions in a music video. These are : different locations, lip-syncing, costume, different shot types and the most crucial one- the artist present in the music video. At times in very successful music video all of these conventions mentioned are present in the music video - thus making them popular within the public. When the artist is lip-syncing along to the music you must ensure that the syncing to the music to precise or else the video would look to fake and wouldn't look professional.

Within the music video I have decided to show these two videos as my location shots. This is to make the audience engaged and intrigues with the video and what the theme is and what it consists of. I've also decided to include these two shots to allows the video to become more conventional and allow the audience to understand what's happening in the video and so that everything can link and relate to each other and wouldn't be confusing for the audience.

In this footage we can clearly see one of the artist and their choice of costume. This is to allow the audience to connect to the music and the audience and feel like they can relate to the artist. It also allows the audience to understand the connection between the artists costume and how it relates to the theme and the location that they are in.

I have decide to include these two footage in the music video to include a range of different shots in the video. This makes the music video a bit more exciting and engaging to watch. It also allows the audience to see more of the scenery and the props present at a side angle than showing it from the front. It also gives the music video and interesting concept.

In this shot we can see both artist and we can tell that the shot type is a long shot. Having a long shot in the music video allows the audience to get a better view of the location that the artist is present in. It also give the audience the chance to better examine what the artist is wearing and see the connection from the artists costume to the theme of the music video. It gives the audience the chance to compare and see the different in the different shots, locations and costumes that the artist wears. By having a long shot in the music video it makes the video much more conventional and different due to the constant change in shot types and scenery. Thus potentially making the music video widely popular for the target audience. However you must ensure that you use the correct type of shot with the correct video shoot, otherwise the video would look unprofessional and would look very messy and not well-made.

Music Video- Uploading the footage

Once my partner ( Clare O'Mara ) and I had succeeded in filming for the music video our first priority after that was to ensure that the footage was save. In order for this to happen we had to upload the footage onto the computer that we had chosen to edit the footage on. We also had to ensure that the video was also on the editing program/software that we were going to use so that it would be very easy to access the footage when we were ready to start editing.

To be able to make these things possible you would firstly have to make sure that you have the card that the footage is stored on. If you recorded without a card it would make the downloading process a bit harder. Once you have located the memory card that the footage is on insert it into the computers card slot. If there isn't a slot for it you may need to get an adapter. Once the card has been inserted in the computer and the files has been located you must copy and paste the footage into a new folder that has been names something that relates to the music video. When I did this step I named it ' Day 1' then the location that we went to film. This was in order for me to easily remember what we did that day, and what kind of footage to expect when I get into that folder. I did this for each of the different locations I went to. Once the footage is in a new folder with the name of your choice you must ensure that the video is in the editing software. This is to ensure that once you are ready to edit all the videos are already in the software. Once you are ready to edit the footage make sure to name the file something that you would remember and relates to what you are doing. In my case due to the fact that my song is Unknown by Foxes and my partner is Clare O'Mara I chose to name is " Unknown Music video - Khrystlyn and Clare ".This allows me to keep to the topic and find my files easily.

Music Video- Makeup Choices

In the music video of "Unknown " Clare O'Mara and I would be wearing makeup to make the music video a bit more appealing to the audience. One of the reasons why music video are appealing to the audience is through the use of makeup. If the audience is watching the artist that they are watching is physically attractive then they would feel compelled to watch the music video. It would also make the music video a bit more relatable to the audience in terms of everyday life.

VoxPop- What I learnt from doing it

By doing the voxpop and asking my target audience ( 13 - 18 year olds ) about their knowledge about the internet and how to stay safe I realised that they have a a wide knowledge about the dangers of the internet and how to stay safe. My audience that I asked had the same common knowledge however some knew more than the other did. This made me realise that they only knew the basics of being safe online however don't know the major parts of protecting their computer from virus' or anything else that may harm it. However by doing this it allowed my to get further information about my audience and what kind of things that they would see in a social message campaign within an advertisement for their age.

Music Video Evaluation

Music Video Evaluation

WWW: I believe that what I did well in my music video was that I managed to match up the lip-synching to the correct parts of the music and matched it so that it looks like the artist is really singing the lyrics and not just lip-synching it.

WWW: What I think I also did well was the cutting. I managed to crop and cut the parts of the video that I think would be effective and used within the music video to make it interesting and exciting to watch. I also took into note all the parts where our artist are lip-synching and cropped their video by the verse and chorus, so that they audience watching are able to know who are the main artists. I also thought I cropped some good scenes of the dancing and of the background dancers to make the video more energetic to watch.

WWW: The last thing I think went well within my video was that I knew of the mistakes that I did at the beginning and was able to restore the videos and the music to how they are meant to be. I believe that by knowing about my mistake I would be able to make the video better and as realistic as a real music video would be.

EBI:  I think what I did wrong within the music video was that I was trying to put too many of the same scenes within the video mainly because I liked it. If it want the music video to be successful and as good as I believe it could be, I would have to have multiple scenes within the video to keep the flow going and not make it boring that the audience wouldn’t want to watch it anymore.

EBI: If we had more videos of Mickel and Kenny alone dancing I think that it would make the video interesting and we could have had a spilt screen of them lip-synching and dancing behind a green screen as their scenery can change during different verses and choruses. This would be effective because it would make the video fascinating to engage in.

EBI: I believe that we should have had a fixed ending for the video because in almost video we shot it just ends with the recording ending. Apart from when the green-screen with the backup dancers were filmed that was the only fixed ending we had and it would have been interesting to have within the video all of our shots with a planned ending to finish of the video to show the audience the end of the end of the video.

Explain Decisions and the process of making the ident

To create the final composition of our ident we had to change and add a few things to make it fit the brief and appeal to our audience. This included things like changing the props, the setting, background, and music. I had to change these varies things because we found it was ineffective within the ident and did not work well with what we wanted to achieve. I had to change the music to something new and current to fit with the target audience and to make it appealing to them. Due to our ident symbolizing random things and being quite dramatic in what it does we had to think of suitable music to accompany it. I thought of many different kinds of music that would match it but it didn't show the message I was trying to show. Due to the music being ineffective I decided to change it to a remix of a popular song rather be. This fit well with the theme, setting, and the message we were trying to prove. One main thing that was a big change was the use of the props that were going to be included in the ident. I had the idea of having spirals and laughing to show what the channel is about , however it proved ineffective and quite too random within the ident so we had to disregard it. Therefor I had to think of something else that would be as effective within the ident to draw the audience in.

Media Researcher

Media Researcher
Due to my different experiences from working at Kerr-Click online fashion and blog for many years, I have been approached to write an editorial describing my daily routine within my work as a media researcher. At the beginning of my work I needed some internship and work experience for the fashion industry where I helped in the media aspect of things.  My work ranged from editing, advertisement, web design and the occasional photography. I also searched into fashion blogs and fashion shows to diverse my understanding in the fashion industry. In direction to make a website or magazine prosperous it would be very crucial that you do research into what you want to do first. To do this you would have to use market research, production research and audience research to get recent data and concepts to catch up with the audience and to get in connect with the readers.
By doing an audience research we are trying to get to know our target market through the use of different research types like clarifications and try-outs to define and categorize the kind of people who like to go online shopping or look into fashion blogs. Doing this kind of market research would allow the business know how to improve or change their products in order to appeal to the market and possibly increase the boost in profits. It can also allow any aspiring fashion lover to know the interests of their audience so that they can specifically make their products to target them.

The first type of research I needed to complete was audience research. Audience research is imponrtant because it allows us to build a clear picture of who our audience is and how we can appeal ot them. One kind of research we conducted was a research where we studied the kind of products our target market would like and the kind of things that are in current trends.  We did a primary research for women early teens to mid-40 so that we were able to have a wider audience. For Kerr-Click, this is important as we provide products for a wide range of women. however if my product was more niche targeted, then my audience selection would be too so that our data would remain relevant. After we did our own research we decided to do a survey and ask the audience directly by doing VoxPop, which consist of going to the high street and hosting interviews to the audience. We decided to do these interviews at high streets with clothing stores such Wimbledon, Westfield, West Croft, White Gift, Oxford Street and Ashleigh Centre. The question we generally asked them were their age, their daily routine, how often they go out e.g. for parties or hanging out with friends, where they are from, their interest in fashion and their knowledge about it. We then started to ask some more personal questions like the kind of things they like and don’t like, and how often they buy clothing and how much they normally spend, how often they go online a computer to go shopping or if they would prefer it as an app so that if they are on the move they are able to access it. I think it was crucial to ask these kind of question so that the company knows the kind of things they should be making and at what price, so that the target market would be able to able to afford it. This would also help the business because it would be able to be ahead of their competitors. To be able to do this we did a geodemographic examination associating the likenesses of the people who live in the area we wanted to aim for. Since London, Milan and New York have been announced as the fashion capitals we thought of extending our surveys to those area’s to get the research we needed. Doing this helped us receive the qualitative research we needed in order to build an extensive profile of the audience to allow us to meet their interest.

To be able to achieve the goal of having a successful high fashion website we had to conduct a market research to gain feedback on other blog, and retail fashion shops. Market research is a type of research that collects and examines information from the customers to the producer. In order to get the result we were searching for I made a focus group and have several different questions with the topic of subject we were looking for. I decided to have different kind of people there so that our answers would be varied. Most of the participants we choose to question were 20 – 40 years old females it was mainly people who could do online shopping and were in a stable job. Having the correct people there is vital because it’s not towards the audience you’re reaching out for, so it would have been useless as my audience is mostly females and females who shop online. Doing a primary research assisted me compare other leading online clothing shops and blogs such as, New Look, Matalan, TKMAXX, Debenhams and more. I asked questions such as ‘how would you compare Kerr- Click to these retailers ‘and ‘what do you think is important for an online fashion and blog website’? It is very crucial that you know how to address the people you are asking and to know the right kind of questions to ask them. Doing a competitor analysis research is like a primary research however this rather looks at the similar things that other retailers have like Kerr-Click due to the fact that they target the similar audience and their purpose it the same therefore they are our competitors. Having a focus group and showing them adverts, banners and posters to promote the website asking them what their favourite colours were, images, themes and styles were we were able to make various different commercial advertisements to target the audience.

We also decided to ask them what channels they mostly watch so that we are able to generally target the people we want to see our website, isn’t of advertising it blindly. Once the quantitative data was collected I used BARB (an agency that measures viewing rates of television to see what the UK is watching). I discovered this by doing the secondary research and was able to plan where I wished to broadcast all advertisements. Doing the quantative research helped to know the figures to other retail websites. One kind of research we conducted was a research where we studied the kind of products our target market would like and the kind of things that are in current trends.

Production research is just researching a product to gather information that may be useful. I decided to do my production about the current trends, so that the blog and all the clothing would be up-to-date, fresh and modern. We then decided to pursuit for web host that would host the website for us to get the company started. Once we were able to find a host we thought about making it public and the advertisements needed for the website to be a big hit and have its promo. It is crucial to think about other aspects in having the business such as plagiarism, copyright, personal researchers and web makers and writers. For example I would need to make sure that all the clothes being sold are up to date, the descriptions for them are detailed and not forced and that the web designer keep the website modern and interesting.

I would also have to think about the photographer to take the pictures of the clothes and the people to write about the various blogs. To make all those happen I had to look for photography studies in London or locally where we are able to photograph models wearing our clothing products or just the clothes that they are wearing. I would have to put up an ad stating my requirements or look for a professional photography company to aid my in my task at hand. Due to all that would need to be done in order to get production started I would have to think about the amount of money that would need to be set aside. I would have to consider model hiring, studio hire, equipment hire , website costs, advertisement costs , rent , copyright cost and other requirements that are needed in order to start a business.

Media researchers a crucially important for a media company to reach success because by researching and knowing the audience opinions and thought allows it to be widespread and famous within the public.

The Chosen Song for the Music Video

Foxes The Unknown [Download]
This is the chosen song for my music video and it is called " The Unknown " by " Foxes ". The genre of music that it is , it R'n'B. This is because the music is fast and upbeat which is assisted with the use of the instruments. One other convention of R'n'B songs by females normally have bright and interesting colours in their music videos. However they don't show any signs of being in a club, unlike the male artist. Most female artist like to have their music videos shot in a studio because they can do more special effects or change it how they like. They also like to have exaggerated makeup, if they are not wearing extreme eyeliner and they would wear a bright and colourful lipstick like red or pink. In R'n'B music videos there tend to be a lot of choreography or dancers to make it more interesting and exciting to watch. The last convention that is predominantly used is that the artist would be the center of attention and seem more dominant, strong and have a more powerful light.

The target audience for the song is for teenagers, but mostly the female audeince. This is mainly due to the lyrics and the soft tone that the sings the song. This is in a way to appeal more to the female audience.
