Final Logo-- changes made

LOCK

This was my first idea for the logo for lock. I had decided to change it mutple times because I didnt like the look of the logo and didnt think it has the right qualifications that were needed for it to succesfully taget my audience in a effective way. I also believe that It was the right look that my client had wanted me to have for it to succesfuly portay what they were trying to show.

This was my final logo that I decide to present to the client. I beleive that this logo is able to taget my audeinde a bit better due to the fact that it possesses the qualities that my auience would njoy and be able to appriaciate. You can clearly see the different between this one and the first idea. I had change the colour sceme of the logo so that its able to pop out and stand out from any other radio station logo. I also change the locations of the rose to be the " O " in lock because it makes it unique and gives it a different edge that the audeince may like and other radio stations may not have.Changing the font to a pulse that also looks like a wave lenght of sound was for me to be able to fully allow the logo to be able to connect to the fact that its a radio station as well as the fact that I was able to appeal to my audience.

VIP

This once again was my first intial thought for the logo VIP. I beleve that from all the logos that were changed I think that this was the one that had the most drastic change . This had many different changes because I think that it wasnt able to portray the fact of elegance and importance to the best way that I had wanted it to look. I wanted my logo to be able to match the design with the wording and the elements that are presented within it. I also thought that I wouldnt be able to successfully appeal to the audeince that were meant to be intrested in it.

After varies different changes that were made to the progess of this logo I was able to succesffully make the final logo. As you can see the first idea and this are both completely different from each other. the only quality they both possess is the use of the rose and they both have the same font. I had wanted the logo to be able to represent whst the word wast trying to represent  and that was VIP. I think having the crown and the banner with a red carpet is able to portray this significantly because it gives it the elegancy and sophisicatation that is meant ot be represented with it. I also think that this gives it a bit more of a professional feel because the firts logo wasnt done to a good standard and made it look a bit amatuer than the rest.

SHRED

This was the first draft for the logo shred. I think that out of all the logo's this was one of the logo's that I was able to successfully portray from the start. Even though I had to change it I beleive that it was still succesffuly even though it was my first draft.

The finishing logo for Shred was possibily one of the best logos that I had edited. I believe that this was done to a successful standard because of hot polished the finising product looks and the fact that it looks to a profesional standard. I also think that it is able to relate to what its trying to portray of "rock " music and the guitar and font are able to show this. I did do some research as to what colours relates to rock and saw that it is generally black and purple. I then thgouht that I should use it in the logo so that I would be able to target the audeince that I need to target. I also think that by having the falling rose petals also gives it the look that it needed to portray what rock is about as well as relating to what the word generally means.

Secondary Research ---- Book 2

The main purpose within this article was for the media researcher to get to know the audience and know how to target them successfully. This would mean things such as things such as their lifestyle, likes, dislikes, habits , routine and even emotions. This means that you must evoke the emotions of the audience, whether it be from anger, love, fear or shock. This would mean that the company would need to consider putting these qualities into their advertisement to be able to appeal and target their audience successfully. This made me think that to be able to successfully appeal to my audience and allow them to be engaged to the advert I would need to try and use one of these emotions. Due to the context of the advert being anti-bullying I may use the emotions compassion. This would allow the audience to feel related to the advert as well as follow the message and do what the advert is asking them to do.

Music Video Animatic

This is  a bried represenation on how my patner Clare O'Mara and I wish for our music video to look like. Doing this has helped and allowed us to know how the finishing product may look like as wel as allowed us to have control on what we would like the finishing product to look like.

Secondary Research ---- Book 1

This was used in order to for me to get a better and wider persecptive of what it takes to make an advertisment succesfull and appeal to audience. Audience Feedback

I had to consider was the clarity of communication. I was able to show the communication and message of the advert successfully through the storyline and actress. I was also able to commutate the message clearly due to the answers and reaction that I was able to get whilst doing the focus group. To be able to successfully target my audience and get the correct information that was needed to evoke their emotions and feelings during the advert I asked various questions such as if they thought there were enough help for teens about bullying, if they felt like they needed help from peers as well as parents and what they know about being safe online. By asking these questions I was able to incorporate what they said to me in the advert to make it successful.

Once I had done the first draft of the advertisement I went ahead and asked my audience on their view of it and how I could make it better. The first question I asked them was how they thought that I was able to target them. To my delight the answered it right and said that they used an actress close to their age and in an environment that a normal teen would be as well as the costume. The next thing I proceeded to ask them was what they thought that the message of the advert was. Once again the knew that the message was bout how bullying can affect a person and the impact it may have as well as the kind of help to offer if someone they know is being bullied. I then thought to ask them if they had wished it to be any different such as changing the actress , the music or anything else that they can spot within the advert that could make it better. I got a positive response in the fact that my audience didn't wish for me to change any elements in the advert.

Audience Research Analysis

Within the process of creating the advertisement I had to proceed in doing many different types of audience research. This was mainly in order for me to successfully target my audience in an efficient way. I also did this to gather information about what my audience knew about online bullying as well as what they knew about staying safe online and their views on both these subjects. I was able to carry out my research by doing three methods. The first thing I did was a VoxPop in which I asked varies different people the same question whilst filming their response in order for me to have the data needed. The second thing I proceeded to do was to make a focus group. This was in the same format as the VoxPop however with a larger amount of people where they had a discussion about the question that I proposed however the questions were different from the VoxPop’s. The last audience research I went onto do was a questionnaire. These questions were presented to 20 varies different people within my target audiences age group.

When making my VoxPop the answers that I got from my audience were very helpful and were answered to the standard I had wished. Due to the fact that the VoxPop answers were very detailed it gave me the information that were needed for me to make my advert successful. I decided to ask the people participating in my VoxPop what they thought staying safe online meant. I got the usual response such as not giving out passwords or any person information however no one said about not bullying online or about having any form of security on their devices to keep it safe from hacker and viruses. I then though to ask them on what platform they preferred watching videos on. The majority did say TV however if they are on the go they do watch things on their phones- which was the second platform they all did say. I then went ahead and asked them the kind of channels that they watch. I believe that it is important for me to ask this due to the fact that I’m going air this advertisement on a channel so I must ensure that it’s a channel that I know my audience would watch. The answers did vary from Channel 5. BBC ONE, MTV, E4 and ITV. One of the other question I thought was important to ask was what time they normally watch TV. My answers ranged from 7pm – 11pm. I think it was important to ask them this because I wouldn’t want to air the advert on the right channel however not allow them to watch it because I may have aired it at the wrong time.

After asking the questions I had wished in the VoxPop I had realised that I did get efficient answers that would possibly allow me to make a successful advertisement. However I did need to gather a bit more information about exactly what my audience know about staying safe online in a more worded way as well as asking more questions that I could possibly only get whilst asking in the focus group.

In order for me to get a productive response from my audience I had to gather a group of people that were within the age range of my advertisement audience as well as people with different lifestyles. I then proceeded to ask them varies different questions however some of them were indeed the same as the VoxPop. The very first thing I asked them were what they thought it meant to stay safe online and if they could give me some examples of how to stay online. I got the same response as the VoxPop in terms of having your password private, making Facebook profiles invisible to people outside of your friends and not giving out personal information to people you don’t know. I was shocked however when no-one mentioned about having some form of security on the device again. This was in fact the same result that I got whilst doing the VoxPop where no-one knew about MacAfee Security and Norton but I had hoped that within my focus group the individuals I picked would know these. I then thought if my participants felt like they have ever felt like they needed help from adults or their peers about staying safe online no matter what form it may be in. The general response that I got were no however one of them did say that when they were younger due to the fact that there wasn’t much help back then on a few occasions they did have to ask for assistance. One also did say that at times when they feel like one of their peers in experiencing bullying what they may be able to do to help them. I think that one of the important questions that I asked was if my audience thought that they believed there were enough efficient support and website out there for teens about staying safe online. I got a very detailed explanation from one of the participants claiming that there are not enough advertisements on TV however too much on YouTube. They stated that it would be better to be able to watch the advert on TV because having it on YouTube before they are about to watch a video isn’t effective because the person may skip it or just leave and wait for the advert to be finished and just wouldn’t watch it.

The last process I had to conduct to ensure that I had gathered enough research about my audience was to do a questionnaire. This was to get person information anonymously about the audience that they may not want to say in front of other or in front of me. I gave the questionnaire to 20 people with 17 questions on it that were similar to the focus group and VoxPop however with some more added questions as well. This was mainly to know their humour, age, religion and lifestyle to ensure that the advertisement relates to them as much as possible.

Doing the results gave me interesting results because they would have been the foundation of what I made the advertisement about, the theme and how I present it to my audience. Once again when asking the same questions as my VoxPop and Focus group gave me the same results. In my questionnaire I asked average time that my audience watches TV. The results came back as in-between 7pm-10pm. This would help me know what time I would have to air the advert to make sure a sufficient amount of people watch it. I also had to ask once again what channel that they watch the programs on and decided to choose it out of the answers I got in the VoxPop, the majority of my audience said MTV. CHANNEL 5 and E4. Thus making me think I would have to research into these channels to make sure that my target audience would watch it at the time that I air it. I also had to ask the age of the people I gave the questionnaire when I handed it to them. The age range differed from 16-18. This would be important because it allows me to know exactly the age of the people I gave it to and what the liked in order for my advert to appeal to them. By doing this I have a true representation of their opinion for me to have a successful research.
