Whilst looking into my competitors websites to observe the way that they
appeal to their audience I realised the different ways that they have
in order to do this. By looking at their website I realised that their
main ways of targeting and appealing to their audience is their use of
colour and images. By having their website bright and bold it would draw
anyone's attention and they would then feel intrigued in what the
websites message is . The use of having pictures allows the website to
seem different and exciting through the concept of showing what they
wish to portray through the use of not only their words but through
visual effect. I think that this way is better because because remember
thinks better in terms of picture than words, so the message that they
are trying to show would be clearer and easier to understand. The other
ways that they used to target their audience that i believe is effective
is the use of font , information, and layout of the website. I believe
that the layout of any website is very crucial because its the first
thing that your audience see and if they feel like the website isn't for
them or they don't like it in anyway they would go of the website. So
its crucial that the company get the layout correct the first time.
Due to the fact that most of the website I visited were for teenagers,
they had a wide range of colours, interactive games and bold font. This
would appeal to a teenager because they would feel engaged in what they
are showing as well as thinking that the website was made specially for
them to enjoy whilst learning the facts that they intended for their
audience to know. Even though the website were for teenagers they didn't
use any bright colours- I believe that this was in order for the
website not to look childish and trivial for their audience or else they
would have thought that it was either boring or too much. However for
the website that were targeted for the adults, those had no interactive
games or comics, it was mainly facts. This is good because they know
their audience and if there were bright colours or games the website
would then feel to childish for the adults.
